Catford & Catford Cyphers CC
Both the Catford and Cyphers Cricket Clubs were founded separately in 1890. The Clubs merged in the mid 1980s and together celebrated their 125th Anniversary in 2015.
The combined Club runs 4 Saturday and 2 Sunday sides plus a number of Colts teams. We play in the Kent League and the Kent Regional League and play a number of friendly fixtures as well at our Rubens Street Ground in Catford.
Throughout our long history, a number of well-known players have played for us. This includes Jim Laker for Catford CC before he joined Surrey and had an illustrious England career, and EW Swanton who was a player and Secretary with Forest Hill CC.
We also have photos of WG Grace playing and visiting our old Catford CC Home ground in Penerley Road in Catford in the early 1900’s before the start of the First World War.
Should you wish to play adult or colts cricket for us please contact Richard McCaughin on 07775 545794. Our details can be found on our website or on Facebook.
